jeremy messersmith is an indie pop singer/songwriter based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His first album, The Alcatraz Kid (2006) featured quiet, often melancholic songs recorded in a basement studio. The album was well-received regionally and drew the attention of Twin Cities local hero Dan Wilson (Trip Shakespeare, Semisonic), who ended up producing Messersmith’s follow-up, The Silver City (2008). The Reluctant Graveyard was released in 2010 and his reputation for elegant, literate songcraft began to build nationally when NPR named it one of the Top Ten albums of 2010. He made a dramatic left turn in 2012 with the release of a six-song record of ambient, highly textured instrumental songs Paper Moon. That same year he continued to chase his quirky D.I.Y. tendencies by doing a tour of potluck-dinner house concerts. In 2013, he signed a deal with New York-based label Glassnote Records and released his fifth album, Heart Murmurs, in early 2014. In April 2017, messersmith published a songbook of ukulele music and later released his versions of the songs in the album 11 Obscenely Optimistic Songs For Ukulele: A Micro Folk Record For The 21st Century And Beyond. His newest effort, the orchestral pop record Late Stage Capitalism, is out in March of 2018.

Dan Rodriguez

A whiskey & beer drinking, fishing & hunting loving, motorcycle riding, quality food eating, hippie sympathizing, people loving, husband & father who lives in Minneapolis and shares a life with his amazing wife and adorable son.. When not in his studio writing songs and cutting records, or on the road playing shows, he’s usually tending to hisr backyard chickens, eating fresh veggies from his wife’s huge garden, or out doing one of my many outdoor hobbies.

To the music! Over the years Dan has had the honor of sharing the stage with some really cool artists & bands including The Civil Wars, Andy Grammer, Eric Hutchinson, NeedtoBreathe, Augustana, Tyrone Wells, Haley Reinhart, John McLaughlin, Will Hoge, Drew Holcomb, Sister Hazel, and more.

A mainstay in the Rochester music scene for several years now, Sam Butterfass has become one of the premier singer songwriters in SE Minnesota. Starting in high school playing covers, and eventually moving on to originals, he teamed up with Dylan Hilliker and formed a popular band. (Cherry Isles) which after a string of shows, released their debut, self-titled EP in August 2016. Sam is busy with college and playing shows when he can, but when this show came up, we knew he was a perfect fit and had to get him involved.

Come check out Sam on May 18th!
