DESCRIPTION:MN 97.5 Greatest Hits will sponsor ’90s Night – Sunday July 8 (Week #1) at 7PM in Mayo Park\, featuring ’90s Alt-Rock/Pop hit makers GIN BLOSSOMS w/ Rochester’s own Alt-Ska/Punk band FALL RISK at the Think Bank Down by the Riverside FREE outdoor concert series in Rochester\, MN. \nGIN BLOSSOMS (Headliner): The Gin Blossoms have undoubtedly left their mark on the Rock music map. The Grammy nominated band’s fusion of Melodic Rock\, Pop\, Folk and Country elements has helped pave the way for the modern Rock of today. \nFans around the world are very familiar with Gin Blossoms’ five-time Platinum breakthrough album New Miserable Experience\, containing gems like “Until I Fall Away\,” “Found Out About You\,” “Hey Jealousy” and “Allison Road.” Those hit tracks were followed up by Empire Records platinum soundtrack hit\, “Til I Hear It From You\,” and in 1996\, by the singles “Follow you Down” and “As Long As It Matters\,” which hit the radio in a big way\, making their Congratulations I’m Sorry record another platinum success. Gin Blossoms hits have crossed over in five different formats\, taking the airwaves by siege\, and holding MTV hostage for a good portion of the 90s. Boasting record sales of over 10 million\, the band continues to burn up the road performing over 120 tour dates a year. \nFALL RISK (Opener): Blending influences as diverse as punk\, ska\, alt and metal\, Fall Risk is a melting pot of musical expedition. All members hail from Rochester MN\, and proudly fly the flag for the local music scene. \nThe free series takes place over six Sundays in July and August (July 8 through August 12) in one of the most beautiful green spaces in the area\, Mayo Park (behind the Mayo Civic Center and Rochester Art Center).
