DESCRIPTION:Nick Anderson and The Skinny Lovers (NASL) Live \nAfter the release of their first two EPs\, Ephrem Pts. 1 & 2\, Nick Anderson & The Skinny Lovers (NASL) partnered with Tinderbox Music in Minneapolis\, MN. Their first radio promo landed them a number 1 chart position in Florida\, and a number 8 position in North Carolina. \nWith the newly found radio audience\, these songs and their deep emotional context made them a perfect fit for TV Networks like MTV\, E!TV\, NETFLIX. These networks\, along with 10+ more\, licensed NASL’s debut EPs.\nThese licenses opened many doors and ears of industry professionals. Phil Ehart of KANSAS even called NASL’s song 24 ‘The Anthem of a Generation.’ and the band secured an opening spot with former BoDeans frontman Sam Llanas. In 2018 NASL hit the road to play Red Gorilla Music Festival in Austin\, TX during SXSW. They sold out prominent live music venue Handlebar. Later that year\, they played Summerfest’s Emerging Artist Series which boasts alumni such as WALK THE MOON\, Maren Morris\, and X Ambassadors.\nNick Anderson & The Skinny Lovers released their debut full length album Ephrem (Pts. 1-3) to a sold out hometown crowd in 2019. As the shows get bigger\, and the fans get more attached\, this band shows no signs of slowing down.

Songlines magazine made Connla their “must see act” for the tour of the UK and stated “A band this young shouldn’t be this good”. Their sensitive and innovative arrangements of traditional and modern folk songs and tunes\, have helped them create a sound which is very identifiable as Connla. Irish Music Magazine stated; “Consider this your early warning system\, there is something serious on the horizon and that creative storm is Connla” (Irish Music Magazine). \nThe group is a full mix of musical knowledge\, training and performance experience unheard of in a group this young. All are close friends and/or family who go way back together in the Northern musical scene. Each has won several performance awards. The resulting music is satisfyingly complex\, yet directly and easily accessible. This is that rare group that is musically attractive to the experienced trad purist\, as well as the music fan who knows nothing of the music. There is the mix in all of their music of great lift to the music and deep insights in the songs\, all coupled with top musicianship and taste. Winners of the 2016 Famous Dave’s battle of the bands. And voted best album by Duluth Minnesota’s 94x. The band is at a high point. For the Inline Marathon competition\, Duluth blocked off I35 while the band played in the tunnels for 2000 spectators and racers. The band keeps getting better moving through the trenches..playing locally\, regionally and nationally at clubs and festivals. Anywhere and everywhere! Most notably Lowertown Blues Festival in St Paul Minnesota. Duluth Minnesota’s Homegrown Festival where 200 bands perform on the streets and clubs of Duluth\, MN and Superior\, WI for a week. Northwoods Blues Festival in Chippewa Falls Wisconsin. And in 2017 at The Red Gorilla Festival in Austin Texas\, a division of the South by Southwest festival. \nFor the band’s second effort they have signed on with legendary producer and engineer Jonathan Akre.
