In addition to music\, there will be local vendors and artisans on the scene\, all coming together to bring awareness to Mission 21 and benefit their organization. DESCRIPTION:Schoepp and his band\, The Shades\, released their national debut\, Run\, Engine\, Run\, on SideOneDummy Records in September 2012. Rolling Stone premiered the album’s title track\, Run\, Engine\, Run\, on September 11. The song\, a tribute to the Schoepps’ grandpa and his 1964 Mercedes Benz\, was also featured on the NPR’s Car Talk\, Michael Feldman’s Whad’Ya Know?.[1] \nSince the album’s initial release on Good Land Records in November 2011\, the band has toured alongside The Wallflowers\, Old 97’s\, The Jayhawks\, Soul Asylum\, Tommy Stinson\, Social Distortion\, The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band\, Frank Turner\, Cory Chisel and The Wandering Sons. \nIn 2016\, the band signed to Xtra Mile Recordings and released their second album\, Rangers and Valentines on April 1st. Relix declared it a “mini masterpiece” and it was named one of Billboard’s “Best of the Week.” \nIn 2017\, Schoepp released Bay Beach Amusement Park – a six-song concept album based on the site of Elvis Presley’s favorite rollercoaster\, the Zippin Pippin. The band commemorated the album with a performance of it at the amusement park in Green Bay\, Wisconsin\, as well as nationwide tours with Ha Ha Tonka and BoDeans. “The Scat” became the theme song for the Onion’s inaugural podcast “A Very Fatal Murder.”

SUMMARY:Lonesome Dan Kase at Forager Brewing Company
DESCRIPTION:As a teenager growing up in rural southern Michigan\, Lonesome Dan Kase happened upon a radio show called the “Blues Cruise\,” broadcast out on Ann Arbor. Although he had picked up the guitar a year or so before\, when he began hearing artists like Reverend Gary Davis and Robert Johnson\, he quickly became hooked on the country blues. \nLike many of the blues musicians from the early 1900’s that Lonesome Dan was listening to\, he acquired a wander-lust and began traveling around the country busking on street corners. After spending time in California and New Mexico\, Lonesome Dan ended up in Denver\, Colorado where he started playing in coffee houses and drinking establishments. It was here he met Johnny Long\, a blues player from St. Louis\, whose deeply distinctive singing and guitar-picking style continues to be a big influence on Lonesome Dan’s music. While in Denver\, Dan also played with a four- piece band called the 32-20 Jug Band. They played 1920’s and 30’s jug band music covering artists like Sleepy John Estes and The Cannon Jug Stompers. \nIn 2001\, Lonesome Dan moved to Minneapolis\, Minnesota and immediately began playing shows as a solo act. Within a year\, he formed a band called the Crush Collision Trio with mandolin and washboard accompaniment by Matt Yetter and Mikkel Beckmen . They played a mixture of Dan’s originals and old country blues. \nIn 2005\, Lonesome Dan met another musician who has been a significant influence on his playing. Dan had discovered the music of Paul Geremia\, a blues musician from Rhode Island\, while living in Denver. He was finally able to see one of Geremia’s live performances in St. Paul. After the show\, Dan was able to sit down with Paul and absorb some of his musical knowledge. Through Paul Geremia\, Kase was also introduced to some of the early R & B piano players like Joe Liggins and Charles Brown. Boogie-woogie and blues piano continue to play a big part in shaping the guitar technique of Lonesome Dan\, and after years of listening to classic and folk ragtime piano\, he has also begun transposing some of his favorite rags to guitar.

While she’d long been one of East Nashville’s best-kept-secrets\, she burst onto the international scene with the 2016 release of her first solo album\, ‘Midwest Farmer’s Daughter’. Beginning as a bedroom songwriting project\, Almighty American was conceived with the release of the ‘On the Edge’ EP (April 2015) produced and recorded by Nate Washburn (Author\, The Earth and Everything in It\, Comrades\, Hannah Huston). \nWhile ‘On the Edge’ brought about a full-band lineup and arrangements\, Gay’s honest\, accessible writing and clever lyrics easily captured the attention of listeners on their own in more intimate environments. Relishing the atmosphere of the acoustic set\, Gay found himself more regularly playing solo sets under the Almighty American moniker. These solo shows birthed the idea for a series of stripped down acoustic EPs that reach the listener in a more focused way. Gay released the first of these – ‘Songs With Legs vol. 1’ (January 2017) to a sold out Warming House in Minneapolis. \nWith two EPs under his belt\, Gay was eager to craft Almighty American’s first full length album. The busy calendar for 2016 included performances at many concerts\, festivals\, theater productions\, public and private events. \nThe award-winning members of the band have also performed and recorded in Nashville\, Las Vegas and Dublin\, Ireland. The RavensFire band was warmly received on a recent third singing tour in Ireland. \nAudiences everywhere clap furiously along with the RavensFire band’s version of the popular old song Whisky in the Jar\, and chime in proudly on the original patriotic piece\, Hurrah for the Heroes. DESCRIPTION:Cole Allen\, critically acclaimed solo artist and guitarist for the Sena Ehrhardt Band\, is without a doubt one of the most exciting up-and-coming singer/guitarist/songwriters of contemporary blues and rock music. \nAllen was born and raised in Minneapolis\, MN in a home where music was always playing. He explains\, “That’s certainly why I love so many different styles of music. My dad was always playing ZZ Top\, Stevie Ray Vaughan\, and Jimi Hendrix whereas my mom would listen to Smokey Robinson\, The Temptations\, and Stevie Wonder.” Cole’s father Mark\, an accomplished guitarist in his own right\, would let Cole tag along to his gigs at an early age. At age 13\, Allen received a guitar for his birthday and started a band of his own only a year later. In the decade that followed\, the Cole Allen Band toured extensively throughout the Midwest and notably opened for Bret Michaels\, LA Guns\, Bobby Rush\, Corey Stevens\, and John Mayall. \nCole Allen’s songwriting\, described by many as mature well beyond his years\, and masterful guitar playing was showcased on his debut 2012 EP “Headed For Hollywood.” The blues rock scene took notice. “Cole embodies the definition of a unique talent with the major ‘It’ factor that can’t be bought\, taught or obtained in any manner other than simply being born with a musical gift that touches his fans deep in their hearts and souls.” (Legendary Rock Interviews) \nFollowing the rave reviews of his EP\, Allen released a full length self-titled album of originals in 2013\, pushing him further on to the National blues rock scene. Immediately following the release\, Allen debuted music videos for the rocker “Let Me Know” and love song “You Can Have My Heart” revealing his expansive songwriting talent and model good looks. Blues Rock Review magazine selected a cut (I’m Gone) from this album for their Best of 2013 album sampler stating that he is “Sure to deliver what any blues rock fan yearns for!” \nThat same year he was asked to join award-winning Blind Pig Records recording artist Sena Ehrhardt’s band as the lead guitarist. Cole and Sena’s explosive chemistry in both live performances and songwriting led to the release of Sena’s “Live My Life” in 2014 produced by Grammy-winner David Z. For the album\, Cole wrote or co-wrote five songs including the title track and an updated version of the duet “Too Late to Ask” from Cole’s self-titled album. Critics applauded Allen calling him\, “an incendiary guitarist and songwriter whose harder edges tip the blues-rock quotient in the latter direction.” (Rick Mason – Minneapolis City Pages) In his tenure as lead guitarist\, the Sena Ehrhardt Band has been invited to open for B.B. King\, ZZ Top\, Dickey Betts\, Robert Cray\, Gregg Allman\, REO Speedwagon\, and toured with Johnny Winter during some of his final performances. The Fall of 2014 marked their first major international tour of Europe playing to mainly sold-out crowds\, and was followed by even larger European tours in 2015 and 2016 encompassing six countries. In the last year\, the Cole Allen Band has been the support band for numerous National acts including the Charlie Daniels Band during a two-night residency at the world famous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally as well as performances at note-worthy outdoor music festivals throughout the Midwest. 2018 promises the release of a solo acoustic EP as well as a full-length Cole Allen Band album of all new originals.
