He moved into a house with too many people\, and got random jobs at mediocre places. Music had subsided to no more than a quiet hobby to cope with the woes of being young and away from home. But\, almost accidentally\, musical favors turned into consistent involvement\, and Davison slowly stumbled his way into the Twin Cities music scene\, first lending his drumming to numerous projects (most recently Bad Bad Hats and Dreamspook) and now onto his debut solo EP\, Far Off Distant Plans. \nHoled up in a studio within a long forgotten King Coil mattress factory in Saint Paul\, Davison put together a collection of songs about the future: songs about longing and songs about fear. And somewhere within those feelings of trepidation\, a little bit of hopefulness shines through. \nJangly melodies and self-assured rhythms give a nod to the past\, while making room for Davison’s rumination about tomorrow. Written and recorded entirely by Con Davison\, with post production help from Brett Bullion (Bad Bad Hats\, Now\,Now) and Huntley Miller (Sylvan Esso\, Bon Iver)\, Far Off Distant Plans is swirling with sincerity and realism; it is a surprising debut from a college drop out\, turned hired gun drummer\, turned exactly what he’s always wanted to be: completely himself. \n\nVILD\nVILD is Emily Elizabeth Nelson\, a creative\, musician\, photographer\, yoga instructor\, barista\, and beyond. She was born and raised in Rochester\, where she was gifted the chance to learn piano and violin\, amongst many other things. It wasn’t until moving away for college in Duluth\, Minnesota\, when she began to fully listen to the call from her soul to pursue music. During her time in the northland\, she began to dive in to the world of her music\, heart first. She began writing (again)\, playing\, and learning all that she could\, of the business\, voice\, guitar\, piano\, and more. She went on from there to live in London and wander around Europe for six months\, before returning to Rochester last March after a plethora of travels and experiences. In the time since\, she has been writing\, recording\, and playing live in and around town.

DESCRIPTION:Just in time to spice up your cold January\, Wurk and The Civil Engineers pack the heat with their Winter Vacation Tour\, an eclectic fusion of funk\, rock\, jazz\, soul\, and more coming to several cities across eastern Minnesota. Both bands hail from Madison\, WI where their award-winning music has caught the attention of thousands of fans across Wisconsin. Wurk and TCE have performed countless times together and their synergy and collaborations make for a night you won’t forget! \nMusic starts right at 10pm! \nWurk is a funk-fusion group from Madison\, WI\, described by Isthmus Magazine as “summer-jam-perfect”. Wurk’s style encompasses several genres with clear influences from bands like Snarky Puppy\, Umphrey’s McGee\, Tauk\, The Motet\, Herbie Hancock\, The Meters\, and many more. Their sound seeks to employ a musically educated yet groovy “Big City” tone. With songwriting by guitarist/vocalist Frank Laufenberg and keyboardist/vocalist Miles Morkri\, Wurk fills the gap between complexity and groove. Max Morkri\, a 2018 MAMA award nominee for Instrumentalist of the Year on drum set\, drives the band with his blend of solid grooving and intricate chops. Coupled with Max’s drumming\, Casey Seymour delivers powerful bass lines which pull the band together. Ryley Buchanan (synth/organ)\, Daniel Haschke (saxophones/flute) and Carl Hipenbecker (trumpet) add to Wurk’s unique tone with horn lines\, effects\, and impressive solos. Wurk recently won the 2018 MAMAs Breakthrough Artist Competition. Roy Elkins\, Broadjam President and competition judge\, described Wurk’s winning performance as follows: “(Wurk was) not only on top of their music\, they captured the audience during the entire set. Everyone in the room was watching and fully engrossed in their performance.” Most of Wurk’s members grew up in Mount Horeb\, Wisconsin\, just west of Madison. Their shared background creates the band’s closeness on stage and their ability to communicate musically. Wurk released two EPs in 2017 (Wurk\, Broken Disco) and is fresh off the September release of their third EP\, The Devil’s Wurk. \nThe Civil Engineers are a rock and soul band based in Madison\, WI. Drawing from a broad spectrum of influences ranging from Tower of Power to Vulfpeck\, TCE delivers lively original dance music that attracts live music fans of all genres. Molly Fish’s soaring vocals are underscored by one of Madison’s funkiest rhythm sections and hard-hitting horns to produce their signature groove.
