The group has had some high-profile gigs over those many years\, including performing as the welcoming band for four U.S. Presidents: Nixon\, Carter\, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush\, and one presidential hopeful\, Ross Perot. The Rochester group was the official Minnesota band at the 1984 World’s Fair in New Orleans. In 2005\, Les Fields was inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame. \n\n\n\nDARREN SANER QUARTET\nDarren Saner \nDarren Saner is a jazz vocalist in the style of Frank Sinatra\, Tony Bennett\, Mel Torme and Michael Buble. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music and has performed as singer/drummer/percussionist with a number of groups in past years including the Air Force Band of the Midwest\, Saner World\, and Dean Saner Group\, the two latter groups making previous appearances on the Down By the Riverside stage. Their debut single “Haley” in 2013 produced the sounds of high energy\, melodic pop punk topped off in the chorus by Bryan Anderson’s anthem-like vocals. Teenage Angst is a great album to get a feel for the moods of growing up and finding yourself amongst a crowd of several influences.\nFinally after six years\, Fire at the Falls is back and Stronger than ever with their sophomore album. Stronger gives depth into the writers personal life and some struggles with anxiety\, as featured in the song “Saturday.” The debut single “Wonderland” however brings back a strong pop punk forward sound that listeners have no problem singing along to. From emo-punk hits like “Obvious” to melodic ballads like “Nowhere to Go\,” listeners have their pick in a new favorite song.
