SUMMARY:Tat Erredge at Taco JED
DESCRIPTION:Tat Erredge is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who composes songs in his own style of folk-rock/Americana. \nHis voice is distinctly its own and takes many forms\, but has been described as a combination of Dr. John and (presumably all three singing members of) The Band\, though he himself would name his two biggest influences to be Van Morrison and Bob Dylan. Two performers who in his words “sing as if painting\, playfully caressing the canvas of their immaculate lyrics with experimental dialects\, tones and timbers reminiscent of their blues heroes”

SUMMARY:Luke Callen at Forager Brewery
DESCRIPTION:Come join Luke Callen (Minneapolis) for a evening of tall tales and short tunes. \nwww.lukecallen.com\nwww.facebook.com/lukecallenmusic\nwww.lukecallenmusic.bandcamp.com \n“No dog ever eats Luke Callen’s homework. He does it all. He turns it in ahead of time. Not for a grade. Not for extra credit. It’s his work and he’s good at it. Poet. Singer. Player. Just listen. First he captures your attention. You want to make comparisons with the giants whose shoulders he stood on. But don’t. He’s plenty tall enough in his own bare feet and his shoulders are wide enough to hold up the next batch of poets\, singers\, players. Keep listening. Now he captures your imagination. Luke is the hitch-hiker who picks you up. Get in. Toss your bindle in the back. Have you got a couple bucks for gas? No matter. He’s going take you all around the world. Pay attention. He’s going to show you everything that’s in it. And it’s right Below Your Knows.” \n-Eddie Allen \n“Below your knows gets better with every listen. The album has a great atmosphere\, it is one of those rarities that once you start it\, you have to listen to the end. It is a standout\, I get the same feeling from this album as I get from listening to albums like Dead Kennedy’s – Bedtime for Democracy\, or Grateful Dead – Live/Dead\, or Al Scorch – Circle Round the Signs. Below your knows takes you on a sonic journey and hits the listener in their soul. It is amazing\, the music connects you with a “life force”…to others\, the Earth\, and the stars. \nThe songs are something special; they feel so genuine and heartfelt. It’s truly rare to find music like this out there these days. The songs take one on an introspective journey and forces you to answer the question “Are you fucking alive?!”. \nBy the time the album finishes\, you are left with the question….what next? \nHit Fucking Play.” \n– Eric Peloza \n“Take heed\, take heed\, Luke Callen has a great new song “a walk out of doors” from his upcoming album\, Below Your Knows. An album built out of the roots that once was American folk music. It’s simple\, earthy\, and raw. “A walk out of doors” is the first track off the album and it is nothing short of a masterpiece. It’s beautiful and gritty. I don’t know if it’s the tonal quality of the resonator\, or Callen’s vocals\, but I could listen to this song ten thousand times and never grow tired. The lyrics paint a beautiful picture\, the resonator places you within the picture\, and Callen’s voice makes it so you never want to leave. I feel like I’m sitting down around a campfire listening to Callen as if he’s right there in front of me. It’s incredibly intimate and I want nothing more than to witness him performing the song live.” \n– lttlbrthr \nLuke Callen is originally from the river town of La Crosse\, WI-the heart of the Driftless Region-and currently lives in Minneapolis\, MN by way of Colorado. A teller of tall tales and a singer of short tunes-Luke lugs around a couple of guitars-a few harmonicas and even a banjo if he has to. A simple writer and liver who cares more about his cast irons than he does about his interweb streams-Luke is now on tour and will be for the foreseeable future. To track him down and see a live show for yourself…please just get in touch. \nHaving steeped himself-like a cheap bag of tea that you found in a drawer you rarely open-in the recording’s of Harry Smith’s Anthology of American Folk Music\, to campfires\, classrooms\, honky tonks\, festivals and clubs across the country\, Luke brings his humble sense of humor and humanity. With his Chevy Astro greased up\, Luke has played hundreds of shows spanning both coasts\, the American west\, south and heartland. He has had the opportunity to provide support for Dom Flemons\, Dead Horses\, The Dustbowl Revival\, Kacy & Clayton\, James McMurtry\, Whiskey Shivers\, Charlie Parr\, The Lowest Pair\, The Last Revel\, Lilly Hiatt\, Chicago Farmer\, and Robbie Fulks among others.

SUMMARY:Art Heads Live: Fathom Lane with Annie Enneking
DESCRIPTION:ART HEADS LIVE\nFriday\, November 15th\, 10:30 pm\n$5 presale // $10 at the door\nAll ticket proceeds go to the musicians \nFATHOM LANE\nOver the span of three critically acclaimed full length albums (2017’s ‘Asilomar’\, 2013’s ‘Fathom Lane’ and 2012’s ‘Down By Half’) Fathom Lane has been getting international attention for their wonderfully indefinable sound. Michael Ferrier’s songs are at once accessible and memorable\, but are also sneaky with their quietly innovative touches. Ferrier cites classic touchstones such as The Velvet Underground\, Tom Petty\, Gram Parson’s “Cosmic American Music”\, and the Laurel Canyon songwriters\, but even with these influences Fathom Lane manages a contemporary sound. The blend of Ferrier’s steady and simple tenor with fellow singer Ashleigh Still’s more mellifluous soul is a main feature of the rich sound Fathom Lane brews; the band invite their listeners in and then delight them with audio surprises. \n“Fathom Lane captures the full range of emotions on ‘Asilomar\,’ from the despair of broken relationships to the joy of the big\, blue ocean.” ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS \n“On Fathom Lane’s new album\, Asilomar\, it’s clear that Farrier’s patience paid off. The album is one that’s worth sitting quietly and listening to\, with the songs taking listeners on a journey through a wide range of life experiences.” 89.3 THE CURRENT \n“It is their distinctive sound which most catches your attention. With songs ranging from biting to calm\, yet never cloying\, the combined vocals of Michael Ferrier and Ashleigh Still intersect\, diverge\, then unite again to alight somewhere transcendent.” SEVEN MAGAZINE \nANNIE ENNEKING\nAnnie Enneking is lover and a fighter. She writes songs about having a body at a particular place in time. She fronts and founded the searing\, mischievous rock band Annie and the Bang Bang\, and\, as a more mellow\, acoustic-based singer-songwriter\, gets to the dark heart of the matter on albums like what “i want now i will want later” and “Lyndale & 24th”\, where everything is spare and true and hurts just right.

SUMMARY:Bad Bad Hats w/ Under The Pavilion at Thesis Beer Project
DESCRIPTION:November 16th\nLocation: Thesis Beer Project\nAge restriction: 16+\nDoors open at: 7:00PM\nUnder The Pavilion: 8:00PM\nBad Bad Hats: 9:00PM\nGeneral Admission \n  \n\nBad Bad Hats\nPhotos by Zoe Prinds-Flash \nBad Bad Hats is an indie rock band from Minneapolis\, Minnesota. The band consists of Kerry Alexander\, Chris Hoge\, and Connor Davison. Named for a trouble-making character from the Madeline children’s books\, Bad Bad Hats is defined by a balance of sweet and sour. Their music honors classic pop songwriting\, with nods to nineties rock simplicity and pop-punk frivolity. Through it all\, Alexander’s unflinchingly sincere lyrics cut to the emotional heart of things. \nAlexander and Hoge met while attending Macalester College in Saint Paul\, Minnesota. In 2012\, they formed Bad Bad Hats with friend and bassist Noah Boswell\, and began performing around the Twin Cities. That same year\, they were signed by Minneapolis label Afternoon Records. Their 2015 debut album Psychic Reader caught the attention of outlets including The New Yorker\, NPR\, Pitchfork\, and Paste. Since the release of Psychic Reader\, Bad Bad Hats has toured the U.S. extensively\, supporting artists including Margaret Glaspy\, Hippo Campus\, and Third Eye Blind. \nLightning Round\, the band’s second full-length album\, finds Bad Bad Hats more confident and mature than ever. Producer and collaborator Brett Bullion (who also produced Psychic Reader) encouraged the group to record live in the studio\, an approach which pushed the band outside of their comfort zone and lends many songs on the record a loose\, organic feel. There is a vulnerability in this (fluttering tape loops\, a few wrong notes) and it makes the music on the new album feel as honest and unpredictable as Alexander’s lyrics. In this spontaneous environment\, Hoge\, who is known to play every instrument in the band\, delivers some of his most inspired musical performances yet. \nFollow Bad Bad Hats on:\nFacebook: facebook.com/badbadhats\nInstagram: @badbadhats\nTwitter: @BadBadHats \nLearn more about Bad Bad Hats at:\nhttp://www.badbadhats.com/ \n\n\n\nWatch\n \n\n\nListen\n \n\n\n\nUnder The Pavilion\nUnder The Pavilion \nUnder the Pavilion draws from 70’s punk and garage band influences. Their music features melodic guitar riffs\, driving drums and loud bass! Having released their first full length album\, When we Started\, February of 2018\, Under the Pavilion is currently playing multiple shows throughout the Midwest and entering the studio June 2019 to record their second album. Featuring Pat Obert on vocals and guitar\, Nate Pettey on drums\, Alex Smith on guitar and Adam Lien on bass; Under the Pavilion’s dynamic lineup translates to high energy performances. \n“There is a lot to be said about the production of the album\, too. The sound is clearly heavily influenced by The Strokes\, and bands of a similar style. It’s rare to hear a band intentionally try and achieve this sound\, but even more uncommon for them to achieve it as well as Under the Pavilion does.”\n– Minnesota Indie Blog \nFollow Under The Pavilion on:\nFacebook: facebook.com/underthepavilionband/\nInstagram: @underthepavilion\nTwitter: @UTP_Music \nLearn more about Under The Pavilion at:\nhttps://www.underthepavilion.com/ \n\n\n\nListen\n \n\n\n\nPick up a “Support Rochester Music” Shirt\n \nWant to enjoy the concert in style and show your support for the Rochester music at the same time?
