Join us October 11th at the Historic Chateau Theatre for an unforgettable evening of music featuring The Big Wu\, Clay Fulton & The Lost Forty\, Tae & The Neighborly\, Molly Brandt\, Audrey Robinson\, Josiah Smith\, and Jeff Kelly.\n  \n\n  \nThe Big Wu\n \n  \nThe story goes that the Big Wu\, bound for rock stardom\, sold their souls for a case of Old Style beer one thirsty night long ago. The legend and the band live on. Still rocking their powerful\, moving\, and energizing original music for the fans. A jam band with a unique style and presence\, the Wu combine strong\, free flowing improv and vocal harmonies\, with finely crafted songs for all tastes. Oh\, and their fans are famously friendly. \n  \nFollow The Big Wu on:\nFacebook: facebook.com/TheBigWu\nTwitter: @thebigwu \n\n\n\nWatch\n \n\n\nListen\n \n\n\n\n  \nClay Fulton & The Lost 40\n \n  \nClay Fulton & the Lost 40 are a dynamic roots rock band hailing from Rochester\, MN. With a blend of gritty Americana\, folk-infused melodies\, and raw\, heartfelt lyrics\, they capture the ups and downs of life\, love and loss through genuine storytelling with hope for things to come. Their sound is a fusion of influences spanning generations\, echoing the timeless spirit of classic rock\, and the clever wit and vulnerability in Fulton’s lyrics and songwriting reminiscent of the Old Town school of folk music. From foot-stomping anthems to introspective ballads\, The Lost 40 deliver an authentic music experience that resonates with audiences of all ages and keep you coming back for more. Since its inception in 2021\, the Lost 40 have performed throughout the Midwest and abroad at major festivals like SXSW\, Lumberjack Days\, Caravan Du Nord\, Mid-West Music Fest\, and shared bills with The Suburbs\, Your Smith\, Charlie Parr\, The Big Wu\, Nur-D\, and more. \n  \nFollow Clay Fulton & The Lost 40 on:\nFacebook: facebook.com/clayfultonmusic\nInstagram: @clayfultonmusic \nListen to Clay Fulton & The Lost 40 on: \nSpotify | Apple Music \n\n\n\nWatch\n \n\n\nListen\n \n\n\n\n\nTae & The Neighborly\n \n  \nTae & The Neighborly\, a Wisconsin based Soul-pop R&B group\, found themselves playing music together in a very unconventional way. They were all neighbors\, each one living alone on one floor of a five-story flat. Cake baking is a shared passion of the five member group\, but in the sugar shortages early in the 2020 pandemic\, they found themselves so continually knocking on each other’s doors asking for a single cup of sugar that a group decision was made to all move in together and share cake-baking resources. And since everyone knows all good rhythms begin in the kitchen\, it wasn’t before long that the group began to write and perform together across the nation. Critics hail the group as “having more kick than a bagged-up mule” (Rotary Times) and their live show “…going down smoother than a can of [beans] warmed on the campfire” (Cowboy Gazette). \n  \nFollow Tae & The Neighborly on:\nFacebook: facebook.com/taeandtheneighborly\nInstagram: @taeandtheneighborly \n  \n\n\n\nWatch\n \n\n\nListen\n \n\n\n\n\nMolly Brandt\n \n  \nBrandt’s story began in Colorado where she was born\, but she spent much of her life in Iowa until moving to the Twin Cities in 2019. Music has always been a core part of her existence—she studied classical piano from age 5 through high school\, sang in show choirs in high school and college\, and performed jazz around Des Moines after college\, even forming her own band. But the Molly Brandt of today is a fairly recent development. Laid off and recovering from a bad breakup during the pandemic lockdown\, she taught herself guitar and started writing songs. With a little help from some producer and musician friends\, she began recording\, releasing her first singles in 2022 and playing her first Minneapolis show at the legendary West Bank bar Palmer’s. Since then she’s played numerous venues in Minnesota as well as Wisconsin\, Iowa\, and Chicago\, and regional festivals such as Big Turn and Boats & Bluegrass. \nHer debut album\, Surrender to the Night\, was released in July 2023. The collection showcases Brandt’s vocal and lyrical strengths against a tapestry of styles ranging from classic two-step honky-tonk to 70s countrypolitan to 90s alt-rock. Molly went on to win the award for Americana Artist of the Year at the 2023 Midwest Country Music Awards. \n  \nFollow Molly Brandt on:\nFacebook: facebook.com/Mollybrandtmusic\nInstagram: @themollybrandt \n  \n\n\n\nWatch\n \n\n\nListen\n \n\n\n\n\nAudrey Robinson\n \n  \nAudrey Robinson is a folk punk singer-songwriter originally from Waterloo\, Iowa. She has been an active musician for most of her adult life\, and plays a wide range covers and original material. You might recognize her from a local stage\, or as the Taproom Manager at Little Thistle Brewing. \n  \n\n  \nJosiah Smith\n \n  \nSad hipster country fueled by Chipotle and awful puns. \nThat’s it. That’s really his bio. Thanks for reading. \n  \nFollow Josiah Smith on:\nFacebook: Josiah-Smith-Musician-100034534586307\nInstagram: @bassoonerthanlater \n\n  \nJeff Kelly\n \n  \nGuitarist\, singer and songwriter who’s been hailed as “combining passionate vocals with throat-punching honesty in his lyrics.” -skybluewindow. The songs are a true reflection of where he’s been and where his heart continues to take him. Kelly has shared the stage with such acts as Ben Folds\, Lera Lynn\, Joe Pug\, The Wild Reeds\, Gaelic Storm\, Red Wanting Blue\, Christopher Paul Stelling\, and Reckless Kelly. \n  \nFollow Jeff Kelly on:\nFacebook: facebook.com/jeffreymkellymusic \n\n\n\nWatch\n \n\n\nListen

SUMMARY:Bad Bad Hats w/ The Shackletons & Author
DESCRIPTION:My Town My Music is proud to present Bad Bad Hats\, with special guests The Shackletons and Author! Fresh off the release of their second album “Lightning Round”\, Bad Bad Hats find themselves more confident and mature than ever. The album was recently featured on 89.3 The Current’s album of the week\, and has been receiving rave reviews. \nThe show is December 1st and will take place in the Rochester Civic Theatre‘s Black Box Theater. This is an ALL-AGES show. Get your tickets now to catch some of Minnesota’s most promising artists. This is a General Admission standing room event. Accessible seating available by request. \n\nBad Bad Hats\nPhotos by Zoe Prinds-Flash \nBad Bad Hats is an indie rock band from Minneapolis\, Minnesota. The band consists of Kerry Alexander\, Chris Hoge\, and Connor Davison. Named for a trouble-making character from the Madeline children’s books\, Bad Bad Hats is defined by a balance of sweet and sour. Their music honors classic pop songwriting\, with nods to nineties rock simplicity and pop-punk frivolity. Through it all\, Alexander’s unflinchingly sincere lyrics cut to the emotional heart of things. \nAlexander and Hoge met while attending Macalester College in Saint Paul\, Minnesota. In 2012\, they formed Bad Bad Hats with friend and bassist Noah Boswell\, and began performing around the Twin Cities. That same year\, they were signed by Minneapolis label Afternoon Records. Their 2015 debut album Psychic Reader caught the attention of outlets including The New Yorker\, NPR\, Pitchfork\, and Paste. Since the release of Psychic Reader\, Bad Bad Hats has toured the U.S. extensively\, supporting artists including Margaret Glaspy\, Hippo Campus\, and Third Eye Blind. \nLightning Round\, the band’s second full-length album\, finds Bad Bad Hats more confident and mature than ever. Producer and collaborator Brett Bullion (who also produced Psychic Reader) encouraged the group to record live in the studio\, an approach which pushed the band outside of their comfort zone and lends many songs on the record a loose\, organic feel. There is a vulnerability in this (fluttering tape loops\, a few wrong notes) and it makes the music on the new album feel as honest and unpredictable as Alexander’s lyrics. In this spontaneous environment\, Hoge\, who is known to play every instrument in the band\, delivers some of his most inspired musical performances yet. \n  \n\n\n\nWatch\n \n\n\nListen\n \n\n\n\nThe Shackletons\nThe Shackletons \nThe Shackletons are a Twin Cities band mixing garage rock\, punk\, blues\, and lyrical storytelling. Writing and playing songs rooted in the “Minnesota Sound.” \nColin Campbell (vocals/guitar)\, his older brother\, Cameron (Bass)\, and younger brother Evan (Drums/miscellaneous screaming) are living a double life as an indie rock band as well as a blues band\, Colin Campbell & The Shackletons have been generating buzz throughout the Twin Cities area and released their latest video for their hit 89.3 The Current. \n  \n  \n\n\n\nWatch\n \n\n\nListen\n \n\n\n\nAuthor\nAuthor \nAuthor is an ambient indie rock band whose newest release “Of Brighter Days” is darkly textured and explosive. It’s an experiential record full of sonic environments that shift between grand and optimistic to subtle and tentative. Trevor and Cameron Bartlett’s vocals are deeply in sync\, their choral wails gifted to the band’s smart and creative drummer. Author’s rhythm section is tight and conscious. They pulse through “Of Brighter Days’” 9 tracks\, switching up tempos and dynamic on a whim.. \nAuthor is clean\, fresh\, and slick indie rock; a perfect soundtrack for winter. Originally from Atlanta\, the move to bitter cold Minnesota is apparent in the record’s ghostly keyboard pads and themes of re-birth.” – AudioTree \nCome check out Author on December 1st! \n  \n\n\n\nWatch\n \n\n\nListen\n \n\n\n\nPick up a “Support Rochester Music” Shirt\n \nWant to enjoy the concert in style and show your support for the Rochester music at the same time?
