See you at the show! \nFREE SHOW – Music 7-10PM \nRSVP on Facebook \n\nClay Fulton and the Lost Forty\n \nClay Fulton is a singer-songwriter from Rochester\, Minnesota. His debut album When Trouble Comes has been a long time coming. Songs like “Walls Of St. Paul” and “When Trouble Comes” were written while studying at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul\, Minnesota before coming home to help run the family restaurant business as a part owner. While buried in the business that is owning a restaurant\, he found time to play live music and create songs like “Down On Broadway” that tell of the late nights that follow a long day of work\, and the winding down that takes place afterwards. Using the peaceful vessel of a long drive\, Clay gracefully takes us through his journey showcasing the importance of family and relationships in his more recent songs “Show Me State” and “Call My Bluff”. Clay has a knack for writing clever and simple lines that are both approachable and memorable. We experience that first hand in the song “28 Days”. This album takes us back to the great American folk singers of yesteryear with a modern indie-pop twist; think John Prine meets Dawes. When Trouble Comes balances smart story-telling with serious but playful musical arrangements to support them. We thought it fitting to partner with Thesis and do our part to help put the good in their motto: “For the good and thirsty.” \nIn gratitude of your generosity and support\, you’ll receive a half-pour of your choice of one of Thesis’s fantastic beers! If you don’t have access to any winter gear\, that’s okay! We’ll have a donation jar available if you feel so inclined. All in all\, it’ll be a celebration of live music\, community and really great beer. \n  \n\nThe Shackletons\nThe Shackletons \nThe Shackletons are a Twin Cities band mixing garage rock\, punk\, blues\, and lyrical storytelling. Writing and playing songs rooted in the “Minnesota Sound.” \nColin Campbell (vocals/guitar)\, his older brother Cameron (bass)\, and younger brother Evan (Drums/miscellaneous screaming) are living double lives as an indie rock band as well as a blues band. The Shackletons have been generating buzz throughout the Twin Cities area and released their video for their hit “Minnesota Girls” on 89.3 The Current. \n  \n  \n\n\n\nWatch\n \n\n\nListen\n \n\n\n\nHair of the Dog\nHair of the Dog \nHair of the Dog consists of Tracy Sonnier (acoustic guitar/vocals)\, Jeremy Jewell (electric guitar/vocals)\, Mike Nesbit (bass)\, Erik Henriksson (drums/electric guitar/vocals). The musicians are long-time fixtures on the local scene\, both as solo performers and with other bands. In late 2014\, they found themselves band-less and looking for new people to play with. They discovered through playing together that the blend of their individual styles made for a very interesting and eclectic sound. They unveiled this sound to the public at their first public appearance together on New Year’s Eve\, December 31\, 2014. A local music reviewer described the band as “vintage rock.” The show went over so well that they quickly were offered other gigs around town and have played just about every venue available since\, including Kathy’s Pub\, North Star Bar\, The Half Barrel\, The Tap House\, The Doggery\, Forager Brewery and many others\, as well as local music festivals and block parties such as Eco Fest and Social Ice. \nEach band member brings their own distinct musical taste and background to the picture which results in a very organic\, rootsy style that is hard to pinpoint by using any specific genre name. The band consists of Kerry Alexander\, Chris Hoge\, and Connor Davison. Named for a trouble-making character from the Madeline children’s books\, Bad Bad Hats is defined by a balance of sweet and sour. Their music honors classic pop songwriting\, with nods to nineties rock simplicity and pop-punk frivolity. Through it all\, Alexander’s unflinchingly sincere lyrics cut to the emotional heart of things. \nAlexander and Hoge met while attending Macalester College in Saint Paul\, Minnesota. In 2012\, they formed Bad Bad Hats with friend and bassist Noah Boswell\, and began performing around the Twin Cities. That same year\, they were signed by Minneapolis label Afternoon Records. Their 2015 debut album Psychic Reader caught the attention of outlets including The New Yorker\, NPR\, Pitchfork\, and Paste. Since the release of Psychic Reader\, Bad Bad Hats has toured the U.S. extensively\, supporting artists including Margaret Glaspy\, Hippo Campus\, and Third Eye Blind. \nLightning Round\, the band’s second full-length album\, finds Bad Bad Hats more confident and mature than ever. Producer and collaborator Brett Bullion (who also produced Psychic Reader) encouraged the group to record live in the studio\, an approach which pushed the band outside of their comfort zone and lends many songs on the record a loose\, organic feel. There is a vulnerability in this (fluttering tape loops\, a few wrong notes) and it makes the music on the new album feel as honest and unpredictable as Alexander’s lyrics.
