My Town My Music is proud to be bringing Dan Rodriguez back to Rochester! You may remember Dan from the time he opened for our jeremy messersmith show at the Art Center and had over 350 people on their feet by the end of his set for a standing ovation. (Watch the highlights here.) This time he’s bringing his full band with him to put on a holiday themed show at Rochester Civic Theatre’s Black Box Theatre. Getting the show started for us is Kevin & the Keepsakes brining their big band sound and high energy stage presence. Join us December 8th for some holiday fun!

A whiskey & beer drinking, fishing & hunting loving, motorcycle riding, quality food eating, hippie sympathizing, people loving, husband & father who lives in Minneapolis and shares a life with his amazing wife and adorable son. When not in his studio writing songs and cutting records, or on the road playing shows, he’s usually tending to his backyard chickens, eating fresh veggies from his wife’s huge garden, or out doing one of my many outdoor hobbies.
To the music! Over the years Dan has had the honor of sharing the stage with some really cool artists & bands including The Civil Wars, Andy Grammer, Eric Hutchinson, NeedtoBreathe, Augustana, Tyrone Wells, Haley Reinhart, John McLaughlin, Will Hoge, Drew Holcomb, Sister Hazel, and more.

Kevin & the Keepsakes
An extrovert, a performer. A familiar face in and around the local scene stepping out into the spotlight with lounge act swagger and Vegas-level grandeur along with a backing group of big band era proportions.
You can analyze all you want but it will do you no good. There is a threshold we cross for catchy music—the point of no longer standing still. At that point, thinking can no longer occur, and why should it? We are fulfilled when our ears and bodies take control over our brains.
Kick drums and bass guitars pound and thump, pianos pulsate, brass bells cut, guitars jitter and whirl, cymbals sizzle, a man in a velvet suit croons and belts. It’s all part of the job; music is—most importantly—the act of moving people.
For a short moment after, those who witness this display are struck with an ethereal energy—all the fun has been had.
