Amateur, a Rochester MN indie rock band, was formed by high school friends Brody Heinzel and Chris Tauzell in 2016. Amateur started as a duo playing local coffee shops and open mics to small crowds. Our influences are diverse, drawing from bands like Kings of Leon, Alabama Shakes, Dawes, Queens of the Stone Age and more. Our music brings a unique blend of indie rock, soul, and groove. Bright and shining guitars, driving rhythms, harmonies, and honest lyrics bring a nostalgic energy that feels both fresh and familiar.
